TAKE ME

HUNTING

Waterfowl and Upland Hunting for you! We enjoy 1500 acres of premier, private waterfowl habitat and 800 acres of some of the best upland cover in the state. And just 35 miles north of Denver!

INTO THE WILD

We preserve our Heritage for generations to come

The unique property at Milton Reservoir provides some of the best waterfowl hunting in the state of Colorado. We have nearly 1,500 acres of water, 7 miles of shoreline, protected coves, prominent points and flooded timber.
Strategically positioned in the heart of the High Plains, Milton Reservoir is like nothing else you will find in the state!

waterfowl club

The Heritage Sporting Club property provides 100% PRIVATE access for our members. We have the exclusive right to access the property through locked gates. There is no other PRIVATE or PUBLIC access to the property, thereby minimizing disturbance to waterfowl on the lake. This provides a secure and private hunting experience, free from crowded public lands or unwelcomed neighbors. Within a one-hour drive from almost anywhere along the Front Range in northern Colorado, this is truly a retreat for our members.
We offer multiple unique benefits to our members. Members have access to a sizable array of ready-to-use duck and goose decoys. Additionally, we provide high-quality, portable A-frame blinds as well as custom-made floating blinds, which ensures our hunters are concealed from the wary eyes of waterfowl no matter the conditions.

UPLAND
HUNTING

As an UPLAND member, you are entitled to hunt doves on the property from Sept 1-12. The natural water source, miles of shoreline shade/roosting trees, and patches of small grain-food sources planted by Heritage staff make for a very attractive habitat for these fast and challenging game birds.
Because of the sandy soils and the proximity to the lake, our upland fields are guaranteed to have outstanding cover, no matter the weather conditions. No longer do you have to worry about hunting in fields that resemble a golf course in drought years! Pheasant and chukar hunting is available 7 days a week and runs from 10/1 to 3/31. Because Heritage Sporting Club is a private hunting reserve and licensed by the State of Colorado, our hunting season is longer than the public season. We offer two hunt start times each day at 9 AM & 1 PM. At Heritage, we strive to cater your upland hunt to whatever best suits you. Whether you’re looking to do a training session with a new pup, or a large hunt with friends, simply send in a field reservation throughout the easy-to-use online hunt reservation system, and we’ll have everything ready for you when you arrive.
Outside of the hunting season, members may still use the property for training purposes or simply exercise their dogs to ensure they are ready for next season. We also have a designated water training area on the southwest side of the lake, perfect for the dog days of summer or for steadying up water retrieve skills.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Best sporting club out there! We will be members for a long time. The property is beautiful with options for upland and waterfowl hunts.

Great cover! Great birds! Surprising on how well the cover is during such a dry year. Had a great morning with my daughter, puppy and older lab.

Great Day Hunting at Heritage Sporting Club. Thanks to Rob and Charlie!

Dog Training

A well-trained dog is enjoyable, something to be proud of, but it doesn’t happen without training and practice! We give you year-round opportunities to train your dog in preparation for the hunting season

Clubhouse.jpg

club house

The current facility is a WWII military Quonset. This rustic building dates back to the 1940’s when the Army ordered 16,000 units after the attack on Pearl Harbor, and has been used by generations of hunters.

natural habitat

The cover provides outstanding natural habitat  for very challenging and enjoyable hunts. We keep our cover in a natural, wild state. We do not cut, manicure or groom our fields.

Heritage business is creating memories and we do that exceedingly well
